After-Hours Trading

After-Hours Trading takes place on major exchanges after regular trading hours. In the past it was only possible for investors to trade while the market was open, which was typically from 9:30 in the morning until 4 in the afternoon. As most people know, events happen after business hours that can significantly alter the value of any investments in real estate, stocks, or bonds. It wasn’t until the 1990s, thanks to advancements in technology, that After-Hours Trading was made available to only a select few investors; mainly large corporations and high-powered individuals. As online trading became increasingly common and more people gained access to the markets, After- Hours Trading became more accessible to everyone else. Today After-Hours Trading is seen as normal; something that any investor can easily take part in, requiring only knowledge of the market and the use of a platform that allows the investor to make trades at any time throughout the day. It’s important to find out what the policies are when working with a given agency or business though, as After-Hours opportunities can be a great asset in real estate.
